Childhood dreams and disappointment.

Where did you dream of going as a kid?

Raised in the thick of corn and soybean fields in rural Illinois LaRae, the main character in my novel Hidden Wings, dreamt of going to the beach. When her dream finally comes true she is an adult standing on a foreign shore in the midst of snow and ice. Nevertheless she lifts a clump of yellow sand to her lips and kisses it.

We were created with the ability to hope for good things.

Unfortunately, as a human living in a fallen world this hope also sets us up for disappointment.

Does Solomon's observation in the book of Proverbs 13:12 seem true to you?

It states: Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

If in any way your heart feels as sick as LaRae's was in the beginning of the Hidden Wings story I pray you too experience a longing fulfilled!
